Almost Home

As the old saying goes-- close but no cigar!  Hoping Uncle Walter would be released today- but we are still here in the Gainesville VA Hospital.  He is on the mend and we should be on the way home sometime this weekend.  I had to bribe him with a cherry sprite from Steak-N-Shake to hang out here for just a little longer!  So-- the farmhouse will be closed again this weekend and we will be back to regular hours next weekend- hope to see you then!

(luckily I brought the stamp album)

Wool Sign

Have you any wool?  We'll I've got tons of it, and I love anything with  sheep on it!  This is one of our new bracket signs-it's made from heavy gauge metal with a wonderful rusty finish, it's double sided so you can see it coming or going!  This is a big sign and would look great on your porch or inside, the wool sign is offset and hangs from old fence pieces.  This is an original design and hand-made right here at the farmhouse- I love it when an idea comes out just like you picture it!

Old Buttons...

I had a relaxing day listening to the rain on the roof and sorting through a big bowl of buttons, picking out the old white one's to go in the bins of our counter.  It is getting a much needed make-over.

here's a little peek of the counter, I am trying to find some antique hinges

Black-eyed Susans and Purple Cones are popping their sweet little heads up everywhere!  They did enjoy the gentle rain today

Tonight I am starting a new sampler by Stacy Nash, wish me luck, I have a hard time finishing a bigger piece before I start something new!

Don't forget to like us on facebook too, I usually post more shop photos on there.  I'm off to find my super powered reading glasses!

Quilts

Mama loved old quilts and buttons, she would look through an old jar full of buttons for hours picking out her favorites to use on a project.  Here are a few of my favorite quilts in the shop-

Happy February!

We just got in this wonderful toweling fabric.  I have tons of ideas for this stuff or it is pretty just like it is.  It's 16" wide and we have red, chocolate brown and caramel tan.

Also, we are now carrying punchneedle patterns and weavers cloth, along with some beautiful Valdani threads.

It's time to start on the Easter Bunnies now!

Look at this pretty new fabric we got in last week

We also finished some really pretty signs, these aren't the best pictures but I will try to get some better ones this week-- I am not the best with the camera!  These came out really nice and some of them have a multi-layer aged finish.

What a wonderful Christmas Open House we had

Thanks so much to everyone who was able to come yesterday and today- we were so busy all day!  By the time I got a few pictures, so much was already gone

I loved making these signs, which is a good thing since I need to make more

we got in some new candle scents this week- Nutmeg and Chutney is my favorite and Orange Clove smells so good for Christmas time

Santa bear and his candy cane, and those are our new candle boxes perfect for greens and a grubby candle.  And the cutest little cross stitch

I love the new farm table Clay made.  It's 6' long and has a distressed pine top, the legs are beautiful

This is the cutest gingerman my friend Gloria made for me.  Gloria, Vicky, and Heather have Olde Green Cupboard Designs and they are 3 very talented ladies- they design fabric and patterns and Heather makes the most adorable mohair critters you have ever seen. Gloria has the gingers for sale on her site http://www.oldegreencupboard.com/ - order one before they all run away!

This stocking is made from wool and has a little snowman cross stitch

This is my favorite bench, it is much darker in person- the flash on my camera made everything look brighter than it is
